We look forward to resuming The Grand Tours in 2018.

See our fantastic city from a totally different angle. Take in The Avon Gorge and The New Cut!

New Cut Brigantia

See the best of our beautiful Avon Gorge and the rarely navigated New Cut in this fascinating and unique trip. Starting with a cruise down Bristol Harbour towards Hotwells, we lock out of The Floating Harbour and onto The Avon Gorge. Our professional and knowledgeable skippers expertly navigate past Clifton Rocks Railway and the old Steamship Dock, under Brunel's famous Clifton Suspension Bridge and down to the ancient Roman port at Sea Mills.

After retracing our steps we cruise along The New Cut - this man made waterway was dug out in the early 1800's under William Jessop's supervision to divert the immense tidal flow of the river Avon and enable the City Docks to remain full at all states of tide. No other boat trip offers this rare opportunity to see Bristol from this point of view. Pass under The Old Gaol Bridge, see the General Hospital, the old post office and take in views of Netham Weir. As well as umpteen points of geographical, architectural and historical interest you are more than likely to see a variety of interesting flora and fauna.

Available as a private hire trip but dependent on tides.
