Avon Gorge Trips
Marvel at the stunning scenery on Bristol's doorstep...
Avon Gorge Trip
Join us for this exciting cruise down the magnificent Avon Gorge. With an entertaining and informative commentary throughout, there's no better way to see this historic entrance into the city. We take you down the harbour, starting at Brunel's SS Great Britain, through the historic gates and into the huge lock.
As we emerge into the Avon Gorge there is plenty to see: The Rocks Railway and the old steamship dock, we sail underneath the amazing Clifton Suspension Bridge, Horseshoe Bend (a favorite spot for herons in the winter) and the Old Powder House (where trade ships deposited there gun powder before entering the city).
You will pass the ancient port of Sea Mills and and the village of Pill, where our first ferryboat 'Margaret' worked.
River Avon New Cut
Your journey will take you down under the suspension bridge and towards the sea only to turn around, retrace your steps and take a detour to discover the unexplored New Cut, before returning to the harbour. A fascinating look behind the scenes.
Waterside Wildlife Trips
Spot Fox and Deer with BBC Naturalist Ed Drewitt. Additionally, May is often good for peregrines, ravens and fledged baby herons. In October look out for wading birds.
