AGM Feb 15 2017
On The Evening of 15th February Bristol Community Ferryboats held our 3rd Annual General Meeting at Bordeaux Quay.
It was a wonderful return to this fantastic location overlooking the twinkling lights of the harbour, and once decorated with ferry flags, bunting and colourful photographs took on that familiar yellow and blue theme.
We were delighted that about 120 members turned out for the 2 hour event.
The first half was given over to the formal stuff with an update on the years goings on from our chair Mark Tucker. He thanked the staff and then people in the new power to change roles introduced themselves giving a brief resume of their jobs. Mark then gave thanks to our board members who were standing down, Katy Hallett and himself were standing for re-election.
Ken Guy then gave a summary of the accounts which showed a healthy improvement from last year and Mark Tucker announced that we would be recommending to the board that we offer to pay interest in the same format as last year.
Members were offered 3 options of interest at 4%, vouchers to at least 3 times the value of interest or to waive their interest which would then be put in a Future Investment Fund. After a break for voting Kate Fowler was welcomed as a new member of board and it was announced that Katy Hallett and Mark Tucker had both been re-elected.
After a few questions from members we were entertained by David Chater from Power to Change who spoke about the lottery funding and Power to Change's new connection with BCFB, community benefit societies, and ways that business can be more of benefit to their community.
