AGM Feb 5 2019
On the Evening of 5th February Bristol Community Ferryboats held our 5th Annual General Meeting at The Pavilion. It was a wonderful location overlooking the harbour, decorated with ferry flags, bunting and colourful photographs that journeyed us through the history of Bristol Community Ferry Boats.
We were delighted that over 120 members joined us for an evening filled with information, fun and food.
The first half of the event was given over to the formalities. Our Chair Paul Whitehouse updated everyone on the year’s activities and the company accounts. Then came the all-important election of Board Directors. There were 3 vacancies, with 3 current Board Members standing for re-election, alongside 3 new nominees.
All voting and counting took place over a leisurely break while everyone tucked into a good food and drink! Following the break, it was announced that Carrie Hitchcock and Paul Whitehouse were voted back as returning Board Members, alongside new Board Member (and long-standing Ferry Boat shipmate) Will Smith.
With the formalities finished, we had a dynamic presentation from our very own Outreach Co-ordinator Kim Fielding; showcasing the array of exciting and engaging events that have been taken place on the boats over the last year.
George Ferguson then took to the floor with a fascinating account of his involvement with the harbourside over the last four decades.
Finally, we all expressed our great thanks to Ian and Phillipa Bunguard, who’s commitment to the Ferries, has made the company the success it is today.
