Donate to our fleet's annual maintenance
Every year our hard work in the Summer goes back into maintaining our fleet over the Winter.
The costs of keeping our boats looking "ship shape and Bristol fashion" is going up every year - losing the majority of our equipment and space in The Underfall Yard in 2023 has also created massive challenges for us.
All safety standards for boats in the UK are audited by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) which we meet every year due to the high quality of work and expense by our maintenance team.
What happens to the boats when they are maintained?
When each boat is scheduled for it's Winter maintenance, it will usually be taken out of the water by crane or winch, propped up on land in a rented space, be examined by an MCA representative before it is taken apart, then have materials replaced, engines and mechanics refurbished...
...all of work, time and expense is spent before they are put together and repainted in our iconic yellow and blue colours. They are then audited and signed-off by the MCA before our team are allowed to work on them again and take passengers around the Harbour.
We are currently maintaining four of our existing vessels and undergoing a major refurbishment of two more (Brigantia and Juno) - any additional support we recieve from donations towards the costly maintenance schedule would be greatly appreciated.
